Bon Voyage to The Ocean King

River Ponni, born and raised in the Kudagu Hills, after her childhood was past, wished to meet the Ocean King, her chosen husband. She went swiftly, crossing hill and dale, rocky mountain and canyon. As she came closer and closer, the joyous anticipation of meeting her beloved Lord, the Ocean King, made her thrive and grow. She went even further. Two arms grew to embrace the lover. Spreading her arms wide, she leaped and surged forward. Two arms were not sufficient for her ardent enthusiasm. Her loving arms grew into ten, twenty, hundred! Stretching out all these arms in eagerness she neared the Ocean King. She was the bride meeting her beloved. Chozla women, her bridesmaids, dressed her in such wondrous ways. They clothed her in the beautiful greens of rice-fields. They decorated her with colorful flowers; and showered her with fragrant woods. How can we describe the enchanting kadamba and punnai trees on both her banks: they covered her with pearls and rubies of flowers.
Who would not be overjoyed to cast their eyes upon you, dear Ponni? Which maid will not be beguiled by this, your bridal attire? It is but natural that attractive young girls should gather around you just as bridesmaids surround a ravishing bride.
One of the arms stretched out by Ponni or Cauvery, to reach out for her Lord the Ocean King, is known by the name River Arisil. The beautiful Arisil flows to the south of and very close to River Cauvery. One could not easily view this petite river from a little distance. The groves of trees, growing thickly on both its banks hide the river. One could consider the Arisil as a princess who never stepped out of the enclosed courtyards of a royal palace. There is no comparison to this beautiful virgin river.
The above lines describing about River Ponni (called as River Kaveri nowadays)   inspired me lot when reading the novel Ponniyin Selvan written by Kalki Krishnamurthy. Really its a great novel please don't miss it. You can read online at the website Project Madhurai . To read in Tamil goto "Work number 169", to read it in English goto "Work number 278".

My Best Exam Ever

It was one wonderful morning, I was getting ready for my school, its the first day of admission. Me and my school friends were on the way to auditorium. What a shock my college friends also came there. As usual my school's ground were fully covered with fallen leaves, wet neem trees and tamarind trees, chill breeze. My  mind fully filled with freshness .Feeling them on my way, We reached auditorium at time. Principal announced the Students names and their respective class and sections. Fortunately Me and Close friends got the same section Thank God !

With joy filled within me, We had a walk around the ground. What a surprise my favorite English Sir, He didn’t forget me yet and I had a chitchat with my favorite teacher. After ten minutes we went to class same old school bench were I used to dream about myself, my eyes filled with tears. Classes started and  I started to think that I'm The happiest person in this world because all the teachers who came were my all time favorite school and  college teachers.

This joy last for little time only , it's a dream. It took about five minutes to convince myself about the dream. Who will say no study with both best school and college friends. Oh No ! it was my VP (Visual Programming) Exam, believe me I don't have any material to study and didn’t touched any books. Having more internals in my hand I got ready and board the bus.
Dreaming about the dream I put on my headsets and it was drizzling, no heart to study. got down the bus and took another the bus to college. It was by pass road, bus rushing at seventy plus, romantic songs  thanks to driver and conductor. That became unforgettable day becauses I got a chance to see a rainbow full half really close. With these situations around where to study I continued to admire at that rainbow. Though I know the basics of Physics for a moment as I was watching I thought some magic Nature is showing to us, really that rainbow was so beautiful.

Finally I reached the college, sat on the exam hall. Really God Blessed me on that day got questions which told me to write programs, own algorithms, own syntax. I enjoyed a lot and wrote that exam all school memories filled my mind. No worries, gifted days of our life. All the memories about silly fights, little adventures all made my VP exam my best exam ever. Wish u all experience the same !
